WHO IS KINGSPAN?

The Kingspan Group was founded in 1972 as a small family business in the Republic of Ireland. The Group was initially involved in the manufacture of metal cladding and roll formed structural sections. During the early 1980’s, the Group expanded into the manufacture of insulated panels and insulation products and established manufacturing plants in the U.K. and Ireland.

The Group floated on the Irish Stock Exchange in 1989. In the 1990’s Kingspan expanded through acquisitions and the addition of manufacturing plants and sales companies in the U.K., Western and Eastern Europe, North America and the latest acquisition in the Middle East. Since 2000, the Group has continued to grow through expansion and select acquisitions. The Group has made large investments in manufacturing plants and research and development, leading to the launch of a number of new products.

Kingspan entered the Australian market several years ago and recently acquired an Australian start-up company. Based in Sydney, this facility will now supply the growing Australasian markets with products for the food, industrial and retail sectors. The company’s expansion has been built on a strategy of engineered solutions.
